Erika
Ritter is a radio broadcaster, playwright, novelist, essayist. social
observer—and incurable on- stage performer. The thread that
draws together these pursuits is her lifelong belief in humour as
salvation in all human interactions, her keen interest in what the
spoken word does and does not reveal about all of us, and the straightforward
pleasure of live performance. The comedy inherent in women’s
relationships with men—and other animals—is a key component
not only of her writing, but of her onstage life.
